It was Walter Brueggemann who turned me onto Kathleen O'Connor's book "Lamentations and the Tears of the World." A really great commentary on the book of Lamentations. It was in reading that that I stumbled across Michael Card's book "A Sacred Sorrow." Wow. It was a treasure trove. I loved how he connected the "hesed" of God with the act of lament.

I haven’t read much of Breuggemann yet, but I want to. I’ll have to check out “Finally Comes the Poet”.I was icrtoduned to his work, and to this book of his prayers, by Michael Card when I worked for him last year.

I love to dance to Aaron's songs! I can relate to your children. I am so glad to be a part of Mars Hill. It is such a wonderful place-so full of God's love for one another.

Brad,

Thanks for sharing this story. I have two young boys, three and almost two, and your description of what it was like when you got home sounded familiar. I have found myself doing similar things to give my wife respite. I'll have to remember the "show and tell".

Grace and Peace,

Dustin
